JLG Telehandler Training BC - Following retirement in the late 1960's, John L. Grove started on a cross country RV trip. After spending many years establishing his family built crane business with his brother, John had no idea that this trip would give birth to the rise of JLG Industries, Inc. The world leader of mobile aerial work platforms and precision material handling equipment was the end result of a road trip.
Whilst on their journey, John spent time talking to previous business contacts whom the Groves stopped to see along the way. These conversations combined with a tragic incident—two workers being electrocuted on scaffolding when the Groves were traveling to the Hoover Dam— John uncovered an infinite marketplace for a product that could quickly and securely lift individuals in the air to accomplish maintenance and other construction functions.
Upon returning from their travels, John established a partnership with two friends and purchased a metal fabricating business in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1970, starting operations with a crew of twenty personnel, they built and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. The business incorporates some of the basic design elements of that original lift into existing models.
Since then, JLG Forklifts have come a great distance from when Mr. John L. Grove returned from his fatefull cross-country journey and since the first JLG aerial platform entered the market. As of today, the business has expanded itself into many different international markets and continues to develop contemporary machines to guarantee that consumers are able to become safer and more efficient within their workplace.
