Squamish is popular for its arts and culture scene. The more popular attractions include: Squamish Writers Group, Visuals-Squamish Valley Artists, Crafts Association of British Columbia, Community Clayworks Studio, British Columbia Arts Council, Whistler Arts Council, and Art BC. The Squamish Valley Artists Society is a non-profit organization that encourages the development, education and promotion of local visual artists. The Squamish Writers Group is a group of writers - fiction, nonfiction, poetry - that meets about two times a month to motivate and workshop each other. Community Clayworks provide a place to provide courses, workshops and instruction. It also enables clay and pottery artists of all descriptions to gather and work together. The Craft Council of British Columbia (or also called CCBC) offers leadership in the craft community through building and promoting the development, viability and appreciation of Canadian Fine Craft. The British Columbia Arts Council supports a range of activities which consist of financial support for professional artists and arts organizations, community initiatives, training and scholarships. The Whistler Arts Council (WAC) is a registered charity founded during the year 1982 with a mandate to build and integrate arts into the fabric of the Whistler community.

Squamish has lots of outdoor recreation areas for outdoor fanatics to enjoy.
