Denman Street

The heart of the West End in Vancouver is considered to be Denman Street. This area is comprised of 8 short blocks from Davie Street on the south and Georgia Street on the north. It has been described as one of the most interesting combinations of businesses and shops within the city. Denman Street is near Stanley Park and English Bay and on days that are sunny, the area usually has sidewalks which are packed. It is a tourist spot and a neighborhood thoroughfare also.

There has been a huge redevelopment in the past decade where several blocks have undergone facelifts to add much needed visual stimulation and architectural styles in the area. There has actually been a major focus on outdoor upgrades and patio and sidewalk extensions.

The city of Vancouver has a reputation for being a foodie's dream and among Vancouver's locally owned and tastiest restaurants are found on Denman Street. The West End street also has its share of international cuisine and independent eateries. The area offers a low-key alternative to Robson Street which is super busy and star-studded.
