West Point Grey

Located on the western side of Vancouver, British Columbia is the neighborhood of West Point Grey. Bordering the neighborhood are 16th Avenue to the south, Alma Street to the east, English Bay to the north and Blanca Street to the west. The Point Grey Village is the commercial heart and soul of the West Point Grey neighborhood.

The village of Point Grey is considered to be among the most elite districts in all of Canada. The usual cost of housing is approximately $2 million dollars. In terms of price for square foot, it is the most expensive district within Vancouver. The district is home to an ecologically appreciative and diverse populace. There are numerous faculty members of UBC, working professionals, the University of British Columbia, young families, artists and numerous patrons of the city and established leaders who reside there.

Between Tolmie Street and Discovery Street, along West 10th Avenue is the main commercial district within the area, where most of the restaurants and shops are located. Fiesta Day is held every year along Trimble Park and 10th Avenue. This carnival day intended for the family consists of performances, rides, a parade and games.

The area slopes steeply downhill north of West 4th avenue. Here, English Bay meets at the Spanish Banks and at Locarno Beach.

Situated within the northeastern region of the Village of West Point Grey are the head office to the 39 Canadian Brigade group and the Forces Army Primary Reserve units.

The Village Of Point Grey stretches along West 10th Avenue from Discovery to Tolmie. It is the area where individuals enjoy visiting with neighbors over a cup of coffee, having a bite to eat, catching up on local businesses and shopping.
