Forklift Training Programs BC

Forklift Training Programs BC - If you are looking for a job as a forklift operator, our regulatory-compliant forklift training programs offer exceptional instruction in numerous styles and types of lift trucks, lessons on pre-shift check, fuel kinds and dealing with fuels, and safe use of a forklift. Practical, hands-on training assists participants in obtaining essential operational skills. Course content covers current rules governing the operation of lift trucks. Our proven forklift courses are meant to provide training on these types of trucks: narrow isle forklift, counterbalanced forklift and powered pallet truck.

How to Safely Handle Loads

Do not raise or lower the fork whilst the lift truck is moving. A load must not extend above the backrest because of the danger of the load sliding back toward the operator. Inspect for overhead obstructions and make certain there is plenty of clearance prior to raising a load. Stay away from overhead power lines. Once the load is raised straight up, tilt it back slightly.

The lift truck is less stable when a load is in a raised position. Make certain that no one ever walks beneath the elevated fork. The operator should not leave the lift truck while the load is lifted.

The forks must be level when handling pallets, and high enough to extend all the way into and below the load. The fork's width should provide equal weight distribution.

Set the brakes and chock the wheels before loading and unloading the truck. The floors should be strong enough to support the weight of both the forklift and its load. Fixed jacks could be installed to be able to support a semi-trailer that is not attached to a tractor. The entrance door height must clear the forklift height by at least 5 cm. Edges of ramps, docks and rail cars must be marked and avoid them.

If there is not proper ventilation into the forklift, do not stay in there for long periods. The trucks interior must have enough lighting and be free of obstructions. Inspect the flooring of the forklift cab for holes. The installation of material that are non-slip on the floor will help avoid slipping. Clear any obstacles from dockplates and docks and ensure surfaces are not wet or oily.

Never push or tow other vehicles with a lift truck.
